Description
The Bozeman speculum is a bivalve (two-bladed) instrument used for dilating the vaginal cavity. The modular design allows the surgeon to select the most appropriate blade shape and size for the patient and attach it to a reusable handle. The blade itself is typically spoon-shaped and slightly curved longitudinally, with a smooth surface to minimize patient trauma. The system uses a "slip joint" or similar mechanism for easy attachment and detachment of the blades to the handle.
