Pederson Vaginal Speculums, Small, 76 X 13mm

GY-2913-0

Description

The Pederson speculum is a standard instrument for gynecological exams. Its defining feature is that it has narrower, flatter blades compared to the more common Graves speculum. This design makes it particularly suitable for patients with a narrower vaginal canal, such as young or nulliparous (never given birth) women. The 13mm width is narrow enough to minimize discomfort during insertion, while the 76mm length provides adequate visualization of the cervix.

As a bivalve speculum, it is inserted closed and then opened via an external lever and screw, which locks the blades in place for a hands-free examination. It is primarily used for pelvic examinations, Pap smears, and cervical exams.
