Sauerbruch-Coryllos

OP-04085-0

Description

The Sauerbruch-Coryllos is a specialized surgical instrument used in thoracic surgery. It is a rib approximator or rib-holding forceps, designed to reapproximate (bring together) ribs after a thoracotomy, a surgical incision into the chest wall.

This instrument is named after the surgeons who developed it: Ernst Ferdinand Sauerbruch (1875–1951), a pioneering German surgeon, and Coryllos, a collaborator who helped refine the instrument for thoracic procedures.
