A small slap hammer is a reusable, manual surgical instrument used to deliver controlled pulling force to remove implants, stems, or other hardware during revision surgeries. Unlike a standard mallet which delivers compressive force, a slap hammer is slid along its guide rod to strike a stop, generating a focused, backward extraction force.
